The natural cracks and checks that run through the grain are left as they are, not filled or hidden, which is the point of this raw, monolithic slab. Surface and shape stay calm and heavy rather than busy, with no carving or added ornament anywhere on the piece. Set in a quiet, neutral room, it lets the grain and the natural cracks of the slab do all the talking.

Material And Craft

Build: solid natural wood, a monolithic slab with flared solid ends

Finish: hand-finished to show the natural grain and warm texture; available in four tones, Oak, Brown, Walnut and Black, at one price, only size changes the price

Care: the natural cracks are part of the character of the slab; clean with a soft, lightly dampened cloth and use mats under hot dishes, chairs and tableware shown are styling only and not included

Where It Works

Its raw, monolithic shape suits rooms built around natural material and quiet detail.

The main table in a wabi sabi or minimalist dining room

An eat-in table for a stone or plaster kitchen

A dark-finished statement piece for a moody, dark-toned dining room

A calm centerpiece for an open-plan loft

The anchor of a quiet garden room

Clean with a soft cloth, just barely damp and use mats under hot dishes.
