Three wide horizontal slats span the back of our Farmhouse Solid Wood Ladder Back Dining Chair With Three Slat Design For Kitchen, a classic farmhouse dining chair built for everyday use. A flat square seat sits over an apron, carried on four straight square legs.

Farmhouse Form And Detail

The three slats are evenly spaced and run the full width of the back, giving the chair a simple, country look without any carving or curves to distract from it. The seat and apron are cut square to match the straight legs below, so every line on the chair stays honest and plain. It is built sturdy first, which is what makes it such an easy match for a plank or trestle table.

The sculptural backs are shaped from solid wood rather than bent plywood, and the seats are contoured so you sit into the chair, not on top of it.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Are the colours exactly as shown in the photos?

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?

Yes. Size, finish and fixing position can be adjusted on most pieces. Send us the dimensions you need and we will confirm the price and lead time before you order.
How should I care for the piece?
