A slim top is carried by one flowing base that sweeps down in a long S-shaped curve and rolls back up off the floor, in our Mid Century Sculptural Console Table With Wave Base For Entryway, a mid century entryway table built to look like a wave frozen against the wall. The narrow, natural-edge top sits 30 inches high, sized for keys, books and a few small objects.

Mid Century Lines Up Close

The base is carved as one continuous sweep rather than four legs, curving away from the wall and back toward it so the silhouette reads as a single wave. Grain flows through the curve from top to floor, unbroken by any joint, which is only possible because the base is shaped from one solid piece. The top stays narrow and keeps a natural, lightly shaped edge rather than a hard, squared profile. Five widths, from 30 to 71 inches, share the same wave-base shape at the same 30 inch height.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?

Yes. Size, finish and fixing position can be adjusted on most pieces. Send us the dimensions you need and we will confirm the price and lead time before you order.
