Our Mid Century Rounded Console With Open Lower Shelf For Living Room is a mid century storage cabinet, running a waterfall frame with rounded corners straight from the top to the floor and holding two softly rounded drawers with bookmatched grain.

The Mid Century Look

Below the drawers, a full-width open shelf stays ready for baskets, books or a record player, kept visible rather than hidden behind doors. The waterfall silhouette and rounded drawer fronts give this mid century storage cabinet its retro profile, with each size stepping up in height as it grows wider, 25, 28 and 30 inches. Width is measured as the overall length, depth front to back, and height floor to top.

Waves, ridgelines and branches are carved by hand into the doors and drawer fronts of solid timber, so the relief has real depth and the grain runs right through it — nothing printed, nothing laminated.

Most cabinets arrive assembled; on larger sideboards the legs or base may attach on arrival with the fixings included.
Should I anchor a tall cabinet?
Yes — anchor tall cabinets and bookcase cabinets to the wall with the anti-tip fixing supplied, into studs or anchors, especially in homes with children or pets.
How do I choose a size?
Measure the wall and the walkway in front of it; leave room for doors to swing open. Width and height are listed per size, and the size changes the price.
How do I care for it?
Dust with a dry cloth, wipe spills quickly, and keep it out of constant direct sun; an occasional coat of furniture oil keeps the carving rich.
Do the four tones cost the same?
Yes — Black, Brown, Walnut and Oak are one price; only the size changes it.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Are the colours exactly as shown in the photos?

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?

Yes. Size, finish and fixing position can be adjusted on most pieces. Send us the dimensions you need and we will confirm the price and lead time before you order.
How should I care for the piece?
