A single trunk twists up one side of our Organic Sculpted Trunk Tree Bookshelf With Open Shelves For Home Office, rising out of a hollowed, open base before carrying five long slab shelves across the wall. It reads as a tree bookshelf with the trunk doing all the visual work while the shelves stay plain and useful. Two sizes keep the same proportions, just taller and deeper.

The Organic Modern Look

The trunk isn't straight or symmetrical: it leans and twists as it climbs, and the open hollow at its base reads like a knot a tree grew around rather than a cut piece. Shelves stack cleanly against the wall in a single column, so despite the sculptural trunk, the storage itself stays simple enough for binders, books and office supplies. It's as much a wooden tree bookcase as it is a working shelving unit.

Look through the open base

At the floor the trunk is carved right through, leaving an open hole you can see the wall behind. Higher up it narrows and leans, with knots and ridges along its length. The shelves keep their natural front edge, each one slightly different.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?
