Our Rustic Driftwood Console Table With Twisted Root Base For Entryway rests a long live edge slab top on one sculptural root base that twists up from a wide foot and sweeps beneath the top, leaving open space below for baskets or storage boxes. As a rustic wood console table it relies on a single twisting form instead of a matched set of legs.

The Rustic Look

The root base widens at the floor into a stable foot, then twists and narrows as it climbs toward the top, carrying the whole slab on one continuous curved support. The natural edge contour and knots of the live edge top are kept exactly as they grew, giving this carved console table a raw, driftwood character rather than a trimmed, uniform edge. Because the base sits off to one side, the open space beneath the top stays useful for baskets or boxes. The smallest size stands 28 inches tall; every larger size stands 30 inches, all 12 inches deep.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
