Pair a full ring with a slatted panel on one quiet wall using our Mid Century Open Circle Floating Wall Shelf With Slat Divider For Living Room, a japandi wall shelf built from one solid wood circle and a row of vertical slats.

Japandi Lines Up Close

A complete wood ring sits beside a tall panel of evenly spaced vertical slats, and two long shelves tie the two shapes together, one running through the middle of the circle and one along the bottom of the whole unit. The round form and the straight slats balance each other instead of competing, giving the wall a calm, structured look rather than a busy one. Books and ceramics sit along both shelves without crowding the open circle.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
