Product Details

A single slim slab does the work of a nightstand in our Minimalist Live Edge Floating Nightstand Shelf For Small Bedrooms, its raw edge facing the room and no legs or base taking up floor space. As a live edge floating shelf it holds a book, a glass and a small lamp beside the bed without crowding a tight gap next to the headboard.

Japandi Form And Detail

The slab keeps its natural wavy edge untouched while the top and back are cut flat and flush to the wall, so the whole piece sits quiet and low rather than calling attention to itself. There is no hardware or trim to see, just the grain and the live edge left exactly as the wood grew. That restraint, paired with a willingness to let the wood show its imperfections, is what gives it a japandi feel suited to a small floating shelf beside a bed.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
