Product Details

Our Sculptural Sunburst Carved Bathroom Linen Cabinet With Rolled Shelves stacks four shelves that roll in soft S-curves over a closed base, making it a sculptural bathroom cabinet long before you open the door. The base door is carved in a deep sunburst relief, grooves radiating out from a round centre point.

The Sculptural Look

Each of the four open shelves curves rather than running flat, so towels and bottles sit on a gentle wave instead of a straight plank, a shape that is as much sculpture as storage. The sunburst carving below is cut deep enough to throw real shadow lines across the door, radiating evenly from its centre like rays. Together the rolling shelves above and the sunburst below give the tower two different kinds of movement stacked on one piece. Spare towels and supplies stay out of sight behind the carved door, while everyday things sit out on the open shelves above.

Wood, Finish And Build

  • Wood: solid natural wood, cut, shaped and hand-finished to order
  • Finish: hand-finished to show the natural grain and warm texture, offered in four tones, Oak, Brown, Walnut and Black, at one price, only size changes the price
  • Stability: stands on the floor, and the top should be anchored to the wall with an anti-tip strap, especially with children in the home; towels, toiletries, baskets, mirrors and lamps shown are styling only and not included, so wipe up splashes and keep it out of direct shower spray

Four ways to store

Carved doors, rounded edges

Leaf, wave, sunburst and ripple doors are carved into solid boards, and the corners and shelf edges are rounded and sanded by hand so towels slide in without catching. Inner shelves are solid wood, sized for folded towels and bottles.

Grain and knots vary piece to piece, the character of real wood.

Bathroom cabinet questions

How is a wall cabinet mounted?
Wall cabinets mount into studs. Use fixings rated for a cabinet full of bottles and towels, and use anchors only where no stud is available.
Does a floor cabinet need fixing?
Yes. Tall linen cabinets stand on their own, but anchor them to the wall with the anti-tip strap so they cannot tip when a door is open.
Is there a mirror or light?
No. Our cabinets are solid wood only, with wood doors and no mirror, glass or lighting. Towels, toiletries, plants, baskets and mirrors in our photos are styling only and are not included.
How is the size given?
Every size lists width x depth x height. For over-toilet cabinets, measure from the tank lid to the ceiling and allow room to lift the lid.
Is it okay in a humid bathroom?
Yes, with ventilation. Run the fan after showers, wipe splashes dry and keep the cabinet out of direct spray. Re-oil the wood when it starts to look dry.
Do the four tones cost the same?
Yes — Black, Brown, Walnut and Oak are one price; only the size changes it.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Are the colours exactly as shown in the photos?

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?

Yes. Size, finish and fixing position can be adjusted on most pieces. Send us the dimensions you need and we will confirm the price and lead time before you order.
How should I care for the piece?

Dust with a dry, soft cloth and wipe spills away promptly. Avoid harsh cleaners, standing water, and long spells in direct sun or next to a heat source. A wood conditioner once or twice a year keeps the finish even.
Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Rates and transit times are calculated at checkout once you enter your address. Any duties or import taxes are set by the destination country and are the recipient’s responsibility.
