Our Modern Twisted Wood Side Table With Round Top For Living Room carries a 2 inch thick round top on a body that twists as it rises, opening into a hollow loop through the middle before landing on a round base. It reads as a modern wood coffee table reduced to pure sculpture, just as at home beside a sofa as next to an armchair or a bed.

Shape And Organic Modern Character

The support twists in one continuous motion from the round base up to the top, with the twist opening into a true hollow loop partway up rather than staying solid throughout. That open loop is what separates this piece from a simple turned pedestal, letting light and the room behind it show through the base. The thick, 2 inch top keeps a clean round edge, so all of the visual movement stays in the twisting body beneath it. Four sizes keep the same proportions, listed as top diameter by height from a compact 16 inches up to 22 inches.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

One of the most special parts of this experience was being able to watch the entire process, from the original rough walnut planks, to seeing them shaped and sanded, and finally to seeing the finished table in my home. It was so much fun to watch, and it made me appreciate the table and the work behind it even more. This is not simply a piece of furniture-it is truly a one-of-a-kind work of art that feels personal and special. Our family will gather around it, enjoy it, and admire it for many years to come. Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
