A single slab hangs straight off the wall as the counter in our Rustic Live Edge Floating Bathroom Vanity With Undercut Edge, its front left as a natural live edge cut into deep, rolling waves. As a floating wood bathroom vanity, the undercut shape is carved into the edge itself rather than added on.

Rustic Undercut Edge Lines Up Close

Instead of a simple curved profile, the front edge is undercut, carving back beneath the top surface so the waves appear deeper and more dramatic from below. Long, flowing grain runs across the top, following the same movement as the undercut edge beneath it. That carved, undercut detail separates this live edge bathroom vanity from a plainer floating vanity shelf, giving the front real shadow and depth. One slab, mounted flat as a solid wood floating vanity, carries the whole piece.

How It Is Made

  • Material: solid natural wood
  • Finish: hand-finished to show the natural grain and warm texture; available in four tones, Oak, Brown, Walnut and Black, at one price, only size changes the price

Thickness: about 2" thick, the same for every size; every size is 18" deep, and because the front is a natural edge the depth varies a little along the piece. The slab hangs on concealed wall brackets that must be fixed into studs; drain and faucet cut-outs can be made to order. The basin, faucet, mirror and decor in the photos are styling only and are not included. Wipe standing water dry.

The undercut edge, up close

From above, the front looks gently wavy. From below, you see how deep the undercut goes, with the darker outer wood curling under the counter. Because the front is natural, the depth varies a little along the slab.

Stone basin, faucet, mirror and decor are styling only and not included.

Mounting the undercut slab

    The slab hangs on concealed wall brackets that must be fixed into studs.

    Drain and faucet cut-outs can be made to order; plan them with your plumber.

    Fit the slab over the brackets so it sits tight to the wall with no visible supports.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Are the colours exactly as shown in the photos?

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?
