A rooted trunk forks into two limbs and spreads many bare branches across the wall in our Rustic Wall Tree Bookshelf With Shelves At Many Heights For Living Room, with short shelves set among them. It reads closer to japandi than busy rustic, a quiet tree bookshelf with more bare wood showing than shelving.

The Japandi Look

Short shelves sit at many different heights rather than in neat rows, each one just big enough for a picture frame, a small plant or a short run of books, which keeps the overall feel light and uncluttered. The twin-forked, rooted trunk gives it a quiet, imperfect character in keeping with a japandi room, rather than a dense, symmetrical rustic bookcase. Plenty of bare branch is left unshelved on purpose.

The trunk flares at its foot like real roots, then splits into two limbs that fan out into dozens of thin bare branches.

Short shelves at many heights

Instead of long runs, small shelves sit where the branches meet them, scattered up the tree from knee height to the crown. Each one is sized for a framed photo, a trailing plant, a small lamp or a short stack of books.

The overall unit is 60" wide, 8" deep and 70" tall, so it fills a living room wall without crowding a seat beside it.

Setting the rooted tree on your wall

How deep are the shelves?
About 8 inches, enough for paperbacks, small pots and frames without sticking far into the room.
Are the thin top branches part of the shelf?
Yes. The bare branches above the top shelves are carved as part of the tree and give it its crown.

The layout will match, but grain, knots and tone vary from piece to piece because each one is solid natural wood finished by hand.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Are the colours exactly as shown in the photos?

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?

Yes. Size, finish and fixing position can be adjusted on most pieces. Send us the dimensions you need and we will confirm the price and lead time before you order.
How should I care for the piece?
