Our Contemporary Wavy Floating Wall Shelf With Sculpted Edge For Living Room is one of our decorative floating shelves, shown here as a set of two thick boards shaped into a slow wave with a rounded, sculpted front edge. It mounts with no visible brackets, so the curve reads like it grows straight out of the wall.

The Sculptural Look

Cut from a noticeably thick board, the shelf has real heft compared to a thin wave shelf, with the wave itself rolling gently rather than sharply. The front edge is rounded and sculpted rather than left square, so your hand follows a smooth curve along the whole length. It reads as one of our chunkier floating shelf designs, closer to a modern floating shelf sculpture than a plain board.

Look at the end of the shelf and you see the raw end grain and the full 3" thickness. Along the front the edge is rounded and sculpted, and the whole board bends in one slow wave from end to end.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Are the colours exactly as shown in the photos?

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?

Yes. Size, finish and fixing position can be adjusted on most pieces. Send us the dimensions you need and we will confirm the price and lead time before you order.
How should I care for the piece?

Dust with a dry, soft cloth and wipe spills away promptly. Avoid harsh cleaners, standing water, and long spells in direct sun or next to a heat source. A wood conditioner once or twice a year keeps the finish even.
