Our Sculptural Solid Wood Oval Dining Table With Sweeping Wishbone Base carries an oval top on a carved center foot that splits into two curved arms, sweeping outward and up to meet the underside of the top, an oval wood dining table built as one flowing sculpture rather than a simple leg set.

The Sculptural Wishbone Look

A single center foot rises from the floor and splits partway up into two arms, each one curving outward before sweeping back up to meet the top, leaving open space on both sides underneath. There's no second leg or stretcher anywhere on this base, so it reads as pure sculpture holding up a modern dining table rather than structural furniture with decoration added on. The oval top itself stays simple, letting the carved wishbone base carry all the visual weight of the piece. As a solid wood oval dining table, the open base also makes it easier to seat chairs close together at the ends.

Clean with a soft cloth, just barely damp and use mats under hot dishes. Sizes are width x depth x height: 63" seats about 6, 72" seats 6 to 8, 84" seats 8, 93" seats 8 to 10 and 108" seats 10 to 12.

On a live edge dining table the two edges face each other and resin fills the gap the tree left. Every void, knot and vein is the tree's — sealed for daily meals and made to last.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Are the colours exactly as shown in the photos?

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?

Yes. Size, finish and fixing position can be adjusted on most pieces. Send us the dimensions you need and we will confirm the price and lead time before you order.
How should I care for the piece?

Dust with a dry, soft cloth and wipe spills away promptly. Avoid harsh cleaners, standing water, and long spells in direct sun or next to a heat source. A wood conditioner once or twice a year keeps the finish even.
