Tall and narrow, our Artisan Vertical Wood Wall Sculpture With Twisting Ribbon Form For Entryway is carved from solid wood as a thick ribbon that folds back and forth all the way down the wall, the kind of modern wall art built from one continuous twisting form rather than separate panels. Deep hollows between the folds throw strong shadows rather than leaving a flat surface. It suits a slim stretch of wall where a wide piece wouldn't fit.

Shape And Sculptural Character

As carved wood wall art, the ribbon reads as one unbroken form twisting down the wall, each fold catching light differently than the one above it. The deep hollows between folds are carved through enough of the thickness to throw real shadow, not just a surface groove. The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
