Carved as one heavy block, our Brutalist Carved Solid Wood Coffee Table With Open Cutouts For Living Room flows from a soft-cornered rectangular top into a base pierced with large organic cutouts. It is a sculptural solid wood coffee table, more art object than ordinary surface.

The Sculptural Look

Instead of four legs, the base is carved as a continuous loop of wood with large open cutouts running through it, so light and floor show through the piece rather than being blocked by a solid plinth. The rectangular top keeps its corners soft rather than sharp, which balances the heavier, more sculptural base below. It carries real visual weight without an oversized footprint.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
