A single flowing ribbon of solid wood loops over itself in an S-shaped knot beneath our Contemporary Sculptural Console Table With Looped Knot Base For Living Room, a modern console table built as one continuous carved form. It rises from that knot to support a top with gently curved edges.

Sculptural Form And Detail

The base is carved from one piece into a loop that crosses itself rather than standing on separate legs, so the whole support reads as a single sculpted ribbon. Above it, the top keeps soft curved edges instead of sharp corners, which lets the knot stay the visual focus. The base is carved as one flowing ribbon of wood. It coils at the floor, folds back over itself in an S-shaped knot, then rises to carry a top with gently curved edges.

Top fixed with hidden hardware

The top attaches to the knot with hardware tucked out of sight, so from every side you only see the ribbon of wood meeting the underside of the top.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
