Two gnarled root legs lean in and cross beneath the thick live-edge top of our Handcrafted Driftwood Console Table With Crossed Root Base For Entryway, a live edge entryway table built from real root wood. The legs spread back out into root feet once they reach the floor.

Shape And Rustic Character

Because the base is cut from real root wood rather than milled lumber, the cross point, twist and knots are different on every single table. The thick live-edge slab on top keeps its natural, uneven line instead of a straight cut edge, which matches the raw character of the base below. It sits among the more unique entryway tables for exactly that reason — no two crossed-root bases turn out alike.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

It was so much fun to watch, and it made me appreciate the table and the work behind it even more. Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?
