The base bends in one continuous S-shaped wave on our Mid Century Sculptural Console Table With Flowing Wave Base For Foyer, a carved console table that rises to carry the top at one end and sweeps across the floor at the other. The top floats over open space where the wave pulls away from the floor, a thick slab with softly eased edges. It is a modern wood console table built to stand on its own as a foyer piece.

Shape And Sculptural Character

The entire base is one flowing S-curve, rising up to meet the top at one end and rolling down to the floor at the other, with no legs or hardware breaking the line. That curve leaves a section of the top cantilevered over open air, so the slab appears to float where the wave pulls away underneath. The top itself stays simple, a thick slab with softly eased edges, so this chunky wood console table carries all its visual weight in the carved wave below.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
