Product Details

A slim solid wood top floats on one hand-carved pedestal that twists like a ribbon as it falls to a flat oval foot, in our Mid Century Twisted Pedestal Console Table For Entryway And Living Room, a mid century entryway table carried on a single sculptural support instead of four legs. The grain follows every turn of the spiral down to the floor.

Mid Century Form And Detail

The pedestal rises from an oval foot and twists a full turn as it climbs to meet the underside of the top, so the spiral reads as the piece's main feature rather than a detail. Because there is only one support, the top appears to hover above the floor, with open space visible on every side of the pedestal. Grain lines wrap around the twist rather than running straight, which is only possible when the whole base is carved from one block. Five widths share the same twisted-pedestal design, all 12 inches deep and 30 inches tall.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
