One carved pedestal twists in a smooth S curve from a broad, low foot up to a slim top, in our Modern Curved Wooden Console Table With Twisted S Base For Hallway, a curved entryway table standing on a single sculpted support instead of four legs. The curve reads as one continuous piece of grain from floor to top.

Shape And Organic Modern Character

The S shape bends twice along its height, first leaning one way near the floor and then the other as it nears the top, so the silhouette reads as a double curve rather than a simple arch. Grain runs unbroken through both bends, only possible because the whole pedestal is shaped from a single piece of wood. The broad foot at the base keeps the piece stable despite the narrow top it carries. Five widths share the same twisted-pedestal shape, every size 12 inches deep and 30 inches tall.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?
