Our Organic Live Edge Floating Bathroom Vanity Top With Burl Front Edge hangs flat against the wall, its front edge thick and deeply figured with burl swirls and knots. As a wood floating vanity it keeps the floor completely clear while the burl grain does all the visual work.

Rustic Burl Lines Up Close

The front of the slab follows its natural live edge, left thick and heavily figured where the burl grain swirls and knots across the surface. The top itself is planed flat and sealed level, 18 inches deep, enough for a vessel basin and everyday bottles. Because the slab is cut to show the burl at its most figured point, no two tops carry the same pattern of swirls. That raw, organic front paired with a plain, level top is what makes this read as a live edge bathroom vanity rather than a standard floating shelf.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

It was so much fun to watch, and it made me appreciate the table and the work behind it even more. Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
