Our Rustic Natural Edge Floating Bathroom Vanity With Open Knot Cutouts hangs on the wall as a dramatic, freeform slab, its natural edge left rough and sculpted with open knot cutouts that let light pass straight through the wood. It is a rustic wood bath vanity built around real, unfilled openings rather than printed texture.

The Rustic Cutout Look

The outline of the slab follows its own freeform shape rather than a straight rectangle, with the natural edge left rough and sculpted along its length. Within that edge, open knot cutouts run clear through the wood, leaving gaps where knots once sat. On top, deep swirling grain shows through a smooth, sealed finish, giving the surface real movement even where the outline stays level for a vessel basin. As a live edge bathroom vanity, the combination of open cutouts and swirling grain makes every slab read as genuinely one of its kind.

This slab keeps the wild outline of the log: the natural edge pushes out in lobes and curls back in, and open knot cutouts pierce the wood so light from below shows through.

Your outline will be different

Every slab comes from a different log, so the shape of the lobes and the size and spot of each cutout change from piece to piece. Expect the character of the photos, not a copy of them.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Are the colours exactly as shown in the photos?

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?

Yes. Size, finish and fixing position can be adjusted on most pieces. Send us the dimensions you need and we will confirm the price and lead time before you order.
How should I care for the piece?
