Our Rustic Root Burl Floating Vanity Slab With Natural Edge For Bathroom mounts straight to the wall as a single slab, its front and underside left with the deep, rugged texture of root burl. As a slab wood vanity it keeps that raw texture on full display while the top stays flat and practical.

Rustic Root Burl Form And Detail

The front edge and the underside of the slab both carry the dense, knotted texture of root burl, rough to the eye in a way a straight-grained board never is. On top, the surface is planed flat and sealed smooth, built for daily contact with water and toiletries. Because burl grain is unpredictable, the swirl and knot pattern on each slab is effectively unrepeatable. As a live edge bathroom vanity, the contrast between the rugged burl below and the calm, flat top above is what carries the rustic character.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Are the colours exactly as shown in the photos?

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
Do you offer customisation?

Yes. Size, finish and fixing position can be adjusted on most pieces. Send us the dimensions you need and we will confirm the price and lead time before you order.
How should I care for the piece?
