A slim, softly rounded top extends past one carved pedestal in our Contemporary Sculptural Console Table With Carved Oval Base For Entryway, a pedestal that swells, twists and opens into a large oval void. This carved console table reads as a single flowing sculpture rather than a top on a stand, with the narrow depth suiting tight entryways and hallways. Room stays open on top for a lamp, a tray or a few books.

Shape And Sculptural Character

The pedestal swells outward before twisting and opening into one large oval void near its center, so the base reads as hollowed sculpture rather than a solid support. As a narrow console table it keeps the footprint shallow while the pedestal carries all the visual weight. The top extends past the pedestal on one side, its rounded ends echoing the oval cut into the base below. Grain and knot lines run through both the top and the pedestal, unique to each piece.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
