A long top with softly rounded ends rests on one sweeping base in our Sculptural Wooden Console Table With Sweeping Arch Base For Foyer, a carved console table shaped like driftwood smoothed by water. The low base sweeps across the floor and opens into a triangular arch before rising to meet the top, with no straight line anywhere in the piece. The flowing form reads as sculpture as much as furniture.

Shape And Sculptural Arch Character

The base runs low and wide across the floor before opening into a triangular arch and curving back up to the underside of the top. That open arch is the main feature of the stand, with nothing else interrupting the sweep of the base. Softly rounded top ends continue the same flowing line as the arch beneath, so the whole piece reads as one connected form. There is no drawer or shelf to break up the silhouette; the arch and the top are the entire design.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
