Our Organic Tree Root Floating Shelf With Branching Bracket For Living Room rests a long live edge floating shelf on a carved tree root bracket, so twisting branches spread beneath the top while a thick root runs down the wall below it. The natural bark edge is kept along the front of the slab.

Rustic Live Edge Lines Up Close

The grain of the live edge top shows clearly, swirling across the surface the way a real cut log would, while the carved root underneath reads as its own piece of wall sculpture rather than a simple support. Together they turn a bare wall into something closer to a natural art installation with a genuinely useful flat top. The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

It was so much fun to watch, and it made me appreciate the table and the work behind it even more. Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.

How is the timber treated?
