Two live-edge slabs hang one above the other in our Contemporary Live Edge Floating Bathroom Vanity With Lower Floating Shelf, the upper one serving as the counter and the lower one as a deep towel shelf. It is a wood floating vanity sold as a matched pair of slabs.

Rustic Live Edge Lines Up Close

Both slabs keep the same soft, natural live edge along the front, so the upper counter and lower shelf read as one set rather than two unrelated pieces. The grain runs open across each slab, catching light differently depending on how the room is lit. Hanging the two slabs

    Plan the plumbing

    Work out the faucet and drain cut-outs with your plumber before the slabs go up.
  2. 02

    Mount the counter

    Fix the upper slab to the wall at the height you want your basin.
  3. 03

    Add the lower shelf

    Mount the second slab below it; together the two tiers are about 10" from top to bottom.

Do I get one slab or two?
Two. The price includes both the counter slab and the lower shelf slab, as shown.
Does the basin come with it?
No. The basin, faucet and mirror are not included. The upper slab is flat for a vessel basin.
How do I care for the edges?
Wipe splashes dry and keep standing water off both slabs, especially around the basin.

The seller was very communicative throughout the entire process. They built the entire shelf, sent a picture, and allowed us to make modifications such as adding branches and leaves, so that we were perfectly happy with the design. The whole process was fairly quick and everything arrived well packaged. There is some assembly required, the directions are very clear, but you are essentially building a tree branch by branch and trying to mount the shelves level and keep everything secure as you go along. Overall extremely happy with the final product. Such a unique item to have in our home!

Very close, but not identical. Every piece is made from solid timber, so grain and tone vary from one item to the next — that variation is the point of a natural material rather than a fault. Screens differ too, so treat the photos as a guide.
Does the item require assembly?

Most items arrive ready to use. Larger shelving and tables ship in a few parts with the fixings and instructions included; assembly is straightforward and needs no special tools.
How is the timber treated?

All timber is kiln dried and treated before finishing, which removes moisture and any insects. Pieces are then sealed with a protective finish.
